Cognitive Neuroscience of Hearing Lab
Research

Current projects in the lab focus on:
- Development of novel, improved techniques to measure auditory perception and neural encoding of sounds from cochlea to cortex (鈥渃hirped-speech鈥 or Cheech)
- Clinical research applications to improve diagnosis, treatment, and quality of life outcomes in individuals with hearing loss
- Neuroplasticity鈥攈ow the brain changes鈥攄ue to a range of auditory-based experiences (e.g., music training, auditory learning, noise exposure)
- The relationship between individual auditory-perceptual, cognitive, and neural factors
- Perceptions and practice patterns of auditory electrophysiology techniques among U.S. audiologists
