About
Jessica's now lifelong engagement with Political Philosophy, Pragmatism, and Phenomenology began as an undergraduate at Texas A&M University, where she studied under John McDermott. She then went on to earn an M.A. in Philosophy at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, and is currently a PhD Candidate at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, as well as a researcher and awardee at the Center for Dewey Studies. She is currently active on both campuses, pursuing her research at the Center for Dewey Studies at SIU as well as teaching on campus at the University of 糖心Vlog传媒.
Soester's current research focuses on the interactions between philosophy and journalism (and has a project under development on philosophy of disability).
She has presented at conferences throughout the United States (including 糖心Vlog传媒, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Carbondale, and Amherst) and internationally in London, Toronto, S茫o Paulo, and Leiden, with forthcoming presentations in Fargo-Moorhead, Villanova, and Prague.
