Dean Linda Haddad Named One of Mid-South Women of Impact
We are thrilled to announce that Dean Linda Haddad has been recognized as one of the Mid-South Women of Impact during this year鈥檚 centennial celebration! This prestigious honor, given by the American Heart Association, highlights Dean Haddad鈥檚 tireless dedication to improving health equity and transforming lives through nursing education. Her leadership at the Loewenberg College of Nursing (LCON) has made a profound impact not only on our institution but also on the broader community.
Each year, the Women of Impact initiative celebrates a select group of individuals who are passionate about making a difference in women鈥檚 heart health. The 9-week competition, which begins on National Wear Red Day, focuses on raising awareness and funds for women鈥檚 heart health through the Go Red for Women movement. This year, Dean Haddad joins the powerful centennial class of changemakers, building a team to support the American Heart Association鈥檚 mission to prevent heart disease and stroke.
Through her nomination, Dean Haddad actively worked to raise much-needed funds for the Go Red for Women initiative. Aiding in raising a record-breaking $700,000, which addresses the critical awareness and care gaps surrounding cardiovascular disease鈥攖he leading cause of death for women. In addition to her fundraising efforts, her team was focused on promoting healthy lifestyles, advocating for equitable health care, and driving lifesaving research for women.
On September 13, 2024, several faculty and staff members attended the Mid-South Go Red For Women Luncheon to support Dean Haddad in this initiative; we are proud of her leadership, not only within LCON but also in her dedication to improving women鈥檚 health across the Mid-South. Her recognition as one of the Women of Impact is a true testament to her commitment to excellence in nursing and community service.
