Dr. Farhad Jazaei, Civil Engineering, awarded $84,444 from Brown and Caldwell with the Great Lakes Water Authority.

Dr. Ranganathan Gopalakrishnan, Mechanical Engineering, awarded $725,689 from the US Army Research Office.

Dr. Sabyasachee Mishra,  Civil Engineering, awarded $99,999 from the Tennessee Department of Transportation; and $4,999 from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis with Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing of North America, Inc.

Dr. Alexander Headley, Mechanical Engineering, awarded $87,079 from Sandia National Laboratories with the U.S. Department of Energy.

Dr. Ana Doblas,  Electrical and Computer Engineering, awarded $39,825 from the U.S. Embassy in Spain with the U.S. Department of State.

Dr. Jeffery Marchetta, Mechanical Engineering, awarded $36,610 from Vanderbilt University with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. 

Dr. Mohd Ali, associate professor in the Department of Electrical Computer Engineering, was awarded $450,000 from the University of Arkansas with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for his project 鈥淐TG-22: Zero Trust: Identity & Access Management.鈥

Dr. Brian Waldron, professor in the Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering and director of the Center for Applied Earth Science and Engineering Research, was awarded $172,174 from the City of 糖心Vlog传媒 with the State of Tennessee for his project 鈥淐oM Stormwater GIS reintegration.鈥

Dr. Ranganathan Gopalakrishnan, associate professor and graduate program coordinator in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, was awarded $107,528 from the U.S. Department of Energy for his project 鈥淓xperiments to validate thermodynamic and transport models of strongly coupled dusty plasma matter.鈥

Dr. Joel Bumgardner, professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, was awarded $9,202 from Bionova Medical Inc. for his project 鈥淐hitosan dressing & NPWT.鈥

Dr. Mohammadreza Davoodi, assistant professor in the Department of Computer Engineering, was awarded $8,232 from the University of Texas at Arlington with the United States Army Research Laboratory (ARL) for his project 鈥淒evelopment of an AI Baseline of Lay Error in Targeting.鈥

Dr. Mohd Ali, associate professor in the Department of Electrical Computer Engineering, was awarded $498,000 from the National Security Agency for his project 鈥淐yber Resilient 5G-Enabled Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure.鈥

Dr. Stephanie Ivey, associate dean and professor in the Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering, was awarded $403,331 from the National Science Foundation, for her project 鈥淐ollaborative Research: The Urban STEM Collaboratory - Building STEM Identity and Student Success through Academic, Financial, Social, and Career Support,鈥 and $85,000 from Battelle for her projects 鈥淭SIN - West TN STEM Hub鈥 and 鈥淪TEM Hub CS.鈥

Dr. Scott Schoefernacker, associate director of water in the Center for Applied Earth Science and Engineering Research, was awarded $139,717 from the City of Collierville for his project 鈥淐ity of Collierville Wellhead Protection and Support Services,鈥; $132,200 from the City of Bartlett for his project 鈥淐ity of Bartlett Wellhead Protection and Support Services,鈥; and $45,000 from the City of Germantown for his project 鈥淐ity of Germantown Wellhead Protection and Support Services.鈥

Dr. Sabya Mishra, professor of Civil Engineering, awarded $100,000 from 糖心Vlog传媒 Area Transit Authority and FTA for his project "Accelerating Innovative Mobility - 糖心Vlog传媒 Area Transit Authority Case Study."

Dr. Claudio Meier, associate professor in the Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering, was awarded $29,975 from the University of Tennessee 鈥 Knoxville with the U.S. Geological Survey for his project 鈥淎uto-Depuration Due to Hyporheic Exchange/Filtration under Bars of Headwater Streams in Tennessee.鈥

Dr. Joel Bumgardner, professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, was awarded $22,898 from Triad Life Sciences, Inc for his project 鈥淏iomaterial Characterization.鈥

Dr. Shahram Pezeshk, chair and professor in the Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering, was awarded $1,000,000 from the Tennessee Department of Transportation for his project 鈥淯niversity Technical Assistance Program (UTAP) - University of 糖心Vlog传媒.鈥

Dr. Brian Waldron, associate professor in the Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering and Director of the Center for Applied Earth Science and Engineering, was awarded $598,000 from the Tennessee Department of Agriculture for his project 鈥淭DA Phase 2.鈥

Dr. Claudio Meier, associate professor in the Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering, was awarded $337,975 from the Tennessee Department of Transportation for his project 鈥淪tormwater Conveyance from Bridge Decks.鈥

Dr. Stephanie Ivey, associate dean for research and professor in the Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering, was awarded $318,455 from Federal Railroad Association for her project 鈥淲omen in Rail.鈥

Dr. Daniel Foti, assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, was awarded $149,892 from the U.S. Department of Energy for his project 鈥淏uilding partnerships for development of sustainable energy systems with atmospheric measurements.鈥

Dr. Mohammed Yeasin, associate professor in the Department of Electrical Computer Engineering, was awarded $43,243 from the Indiana University with the National Institutes of Health for his project 鈥淣eural Dynamics Underlying the Emergence of Auditory Categorization and Learning.鈥

Dr. Madhusudhanan Balasubramanian, associate professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, was awarded $26,552 from Alion Science and Technology with the Department of Homeland Security for his project 鈥淭esting & Evaluation Course Instruction and Research in Support of Information Technology Systems.鈥

Dr. Joel Bumgardner, professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, was awarded $1,500 from Karamedica for his project 鈥淐hitosan characterizations.鈥

Dr. Daniel Foti, assistant professor in the department of Mechanical Engineering, was awarded $406,825 from the University of Central Florida with the United States Army Research Laboratory for his project 鈥淗igh energy laser targeting.鈥

Dr. Kevin Berisso, assistant professor and AutoID Lab director in the department of Engineering Technology, was awarded $255,000 from the GS1 U.S. Incorporated for his project 鈥淕S1 U.S. Bar Code Test Lab.鈥

Dr. Sabyasachee Mishra, associate professor and Faudree professor in the departments of Civil Engineering, was awarded $250,000 from the Tennessee Department of Transportation with the Federal Highway Administration for his project 鈥淪trategies for Improved Behavior within Work Zones;鈥 $149,932 from the National Science Foundation for his project 鈥淔W-HTF-P: Science of Hazard Identification and Evasion of Laborers and Drivers (SHIELD) for Building Human-Technology Safety Partnerships in Roadside Work Zones;鈥 $99,000 from the Florida Atlantic University with the U.S. Department of Transportation for his project 鈥淢odeling household e-commerce delivery rates and assessing their equity and freight travel impacts;鈥 $20,000 from the National Science Foundation for his project 鈥淚UCRC Preliminary Proposal Planning Grant 糖心Vlog传媒: Center for Electric and Autonomous Transportation in Agile Freight Supply-Chains;鈥 and $20,000 from the National Science Foundation for his project 鈥淚UCRC Preliminary Proposal Planning Grant University of 糖心Vlog传媒: Center for Autonomous Transportation in Agile Freight Supply-Chains.鈥

Dr. Michail Gkolias, faculty in the Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering, was awarded $225,000 from the Tennessee Department of Transportation for his project 鈥淚dentification of Simulation Calibration Parameters using Urban Freeway Data,鈥 $121,243 from the Florida Atlantic University with the U.S. Department of Transportation for his projects 鈥淒ata Analytics and Support Tools for Inland Waterways鈥 and 鈥2022 UTC FMRI Admin.鈥

Dr. Brian Waldron, associate professor in the department of Civil Engineering and director if the Center for Applied Earth Science and Engineering Research, was awarded $181,295 from the Tennessee Department of Transportation with the Federal Highway Administration for his project 鈥淭DOT Pollinator Habitat.鈥

Dr. Mitchell Withers, associate research professor in the Center for Earthquake Research and Information, was awarded $154,194 from the U.S. Geological Survey for his project 鈥淥peration of the Mid-America Integrated Seismic Network 2020-2024-CERI.鈥

Mr. Scott Schoefernacker, associate director of Water in the Center for Applied Earth Science and Engineering Research, was awarded $96,313 from the City of Millington for his project 鈥淢illington Wellhead Protection, Education Outreach and Water Quality.鈥

Dr. Brian Waldron, associate professor in the Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering and Director of the Center for Applied Earth Science and Engineering, was awarded $1,095,798 from 糖心Vlog传媒 Light, Gas and Water.

Dr. Stephanie Ivey, associate dean for research and professor in the Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering, was awarded $201,420 from the Tennessee Department of Transportation with the Federal Highway Administration, $20,000 from the U.S. Department of Transportation and $35,000 from Gannett Fleming Inc. with the Panasonic Corporation of North America. 

Dr. Michail Gkolias, faculty in the Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering, was awarded $150,074 from the Tennessee Department of Transportation with the Federal Highway Administration.

Dr. David Arellano, associate professor in the Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering, was awarded $149,999 from the Tennessee Department of Transportation with the Federal Highway Administration.

Dr. Jessica Jennings, associate professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, was awarded $112,729 from the National Science Foundation.

Dr. Shahram Pezeshk, chair and professor in the Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering, was awarded $80,333 from the U.S. Geological Survey.

Dr. Christodoulos Kyriakopoulos, assistant professor at the Center for Earthquake Research and Information, was awarded $67,930 from the U.S. Geological Survey.

Dr. Chris Cramer, research professor at the Center for Earthquake Research and Information, was awarded $51,327 from the U.S. Geological Survey.

Dr. Carl Herickhoff,  assistant professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, was awarded $30,000 from the American Heart Association.

Dr. Thomas Goebel, assistant professor in the Center for Earthquake Research and Information, was awarded $549,995 from the U.S. Department of Energy for his project 鈥淎ssessing the relative contributions of fluid pressure and elastic stress to induced seismic energy release.鈥

Dr. Aaryani Sajja, assistant professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, was awarded $50,000 from Northwell Health for her project 鈥淭he Research Jump-Start Pilot Program.鈥

Dr. Jeffrey Marchetta, professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, was awarded $50,000 from the Tennessee Technological University and the US Department of Energy for his project 鈥淭N 3-Star Industrial Assessment Center.鈥

Dr. Aaron Robinson, associate professor and graduate studies coordinator in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, was awarded $45,000 from the Invariant Corporation in collaboration with the US Department of Defense for his project 鈥淰isual Based Navigation.鈥

Dr. Stephanie Ivey, associate dean for Research and professor in the Herff College of Engineering, was awarded $10,110 from Gannett Fleming Inc in collaboration with the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials for her project 鈥淭SMO Workforce Summit.鈥
