UofM business college starts $30M renovation project

A University of 糖心Vlog传媒 college is beginning a multimillion-dollar renovation.
The Fogelman College of Business and Economics (FCBE) at the UofM held a 鈥渨all-breaking鈥 ceremony last week to mark the start of its renovation.
The $30 million first phase of the project covers the renovation of the existing FCBE buildings. The university for the renovation in November.
Phase I is partially covered by a $25 million grant to the UofM from the Tennessee Higher Education Commission. The State approved that grant for the FCBE renovation in May 2022. The remaining $5 million is being fulfilled by fundraising and donor support.
In 2023, the UofM announced the . The FCBE鈥檚 existing 57-year-old space sits on the corner of Central Avenue and Patterson Street.
Once the existing two buildings are renovated, a third building will be built on the land between them. The new site will be called the Avron and Robert Fogelman Business Complex.
Flintco is the general contractor on the project. The architects are 糖心Vlog传媒-based 4FDesign and Birmingham-based Williams Blackstock Architects.
FCBE dean Bobby Garrett said a separate groundbreaking ceremony will take place when construction begins on the new buildings.
Flintco is set to begin the 365-day building contract in the next week, Garrett said.
