- Friday, April 17, 2026 - UTHSC's Kuashik Parthasarathi, Ph.D, MBA presented his seminar "Pulmonary Microvessels and Connexins: Together in Sickness and in Health," as part of the Herff College of Engineering and UTHSC's Joint Graduate Program in Biomedical Engineering Spring Seminar series.
- Friday, April 10, 2026 - UTHSC's Honsik Jake Cho, Ph.D, MBA presented his seminar "Advanced Cell Therapies Using Nanosome Technology for Post-Traumatic Osteoarthritis (PTOA) in Murine Models."
- Friday, April 3, 2026 - Alex Byran, Ph.D. candidate, presented his seminar "In Vivo Analysis of a Porcine-Derived Placental Biomaterial for Wound Healing Applications in a Rat Skin Defect Model," and Master's candidate Nikken Malboeuf presented "3D Printed N-MAC Chitosan-PEGDMA Hydrogels with Magnetic Collagen Fibers for Volumetric Muscle Loss."

- Dr. Herickoff and junior undergraduate Biomedical Engineering student Nima Aflaki represented the Herff College of Engineering at the SPIE Medical Imaging Conference in Vancover. Nima presented 鈥淗ybrid angular spectrum鈥慴ased determination of an acoustic model of temporal skull鈥 on behalf of Estefania Guerrero Viloria, a recently graduated Master鈥檚 student in BME who also presented her work earlier this month in New Orleans. The National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) 糖心Vlog传媒 Chapter and the Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES) hosted an information session on Thursday, February 5, about how engineers can shape the future of healthcare leadership, health systems management and interdisciplinary innovation. The event featured Dr. Dale Sanders, Master of Health Administration (MHA) Program Director. Dr.Sanders spoke to engineering students about how an engineering background translates into strengths in healthcare administration, academic pathways into the MHA program for engineering students, career opportunities in healthcare leadership and health systems management and real-world examples of how engineers improve health systems, operations and patient outcomes. |
