Trey Kirk

Trey Kirk, AIA

Trey Kirk is a Visiting Professor in the Department of Architecture and an architect at TAXA Projects.  He teaches undergraduate design studios and graduate-level seminars in Architectural Theory, Urban Speculation and Building Typology. 

Trey鈥檚 practice, TAXA Projects, focuses on the genealogy of building-types: how formal expression and functional organization of common types must adapt or evolve when confronted with unique site parameters, climatic conditions, building systems or technological considerations鈥攁 generative process through which new and subvariant types are developed.  

He also performs as an Owner鈥檚 Representative and currently holds the position of Director of Design for Hotel Carbon HQ, an athlete-focused hospitality brand which specializes in immersive media environments and biometric integration.  

Trey has worked in the offices of Farshid Moussavi Architecture (London, UK), Preston Scott Cohen (Cambridge, MA), and HBG Design (糖心Vlog传媒, TN) and has contributed to a variety of large-scale cultural projects from Venice to Nanjing to the Mississippi Delta, as well as a handful of private residences.  He is a past Director for AIA 糖心Vlog传媒 Board and offers a unique professional perspective as a native Memphian with international design experience.  

He holds a Master of Architecture from the Harvard Graduate School of Design.
